Following the confirmation of the date, it is time for the main part, places to explore in Dubai. Supposing that you plan to take a week-long vacation, we have a list of places you should visit:
- Day 1 – Abu Dhabi and Warner Bros World (5 hours to explore properly)
- Day 2 – Burj Khalifa, Dubai Mall, Dubai Underwater Aquarium and Zoo.
- Day 3 – Desert Safari Ride (Morning, Evening, and overnight desert safari package)
- Day 4 – Lego Land or any other adventure park
- Day 5 – Miracle Garden, Emirates Mall, Dubai Global Village (a lot of walking)
- Day 6 – Marina Walk, Dubai Garden Glow, and View at Palm

Compare the prices and schedules of different airlines, and book the tickets you find suitable as per your schedule. It is advised to book the tickets first, as you’ll need them for the approval of a Dubai Visitor Visa. Remember the following points while ticket booking:

- Go on weekdays like Tuesday for cheaper ticket price
- Ensure that the flight timings are as per your schedule
Obtaining a Dubai Tourist Visa
Getting the Dubai visitor visa is an online procedure, individual do not have to take the hassle of visiting the embassy in person. Go to the online portal apply for a visa there, and upload the correct documents as asked.
Alternatively, the airlines you’ve booked the tickets from provide visa services as well, but it comes with an additional cost. For example, the Emirates Airlines. You can even reach out to any travel agent in Dubai, they can help you obtain the visa in a short period.
Purchasing Tourist SIM and Mobile Data Package
There are two reputed telecom providers namely:
- Du
- Etisalat
The Dubai tourists will receive one free Du Sim/passport of a 2 GB data package valid for 24 hours only. You can get this sim at the immigration counter itself. However, if you think that the 2 GB data pack is not enough then go for the Etisalat sim. You’ll get an unlimited data pack with it. Upon exiting the metro station you’ll find the Etisalat counter, purchase your sim from there. The sim will be valid for 30 days.
Travel in Dubai using Public transport
Planning a Dubai trip will surely put a dent in your pocket, and to make in your budget, use the public transport services of Dubai. Some metro stations might have a long queue, especially for the Burj Khalifa, to avoid this scenario, you can purchase an NOL card. With a card, you can save a couple of minutes.
For the places that are far away from the metro stations, go for Dubai taxis rather than Uber bookings. Taxis are a lot more cost-efficient.
Making Payment for things
Every place accepts the payment via credit cards. You can enable the International Transaction services on your Indian Credit card. Remember to keep your sim on so that can receive OTPs on the number. And no there is no additional charge for receiving international messages.
